Membership Benefits

Class Co-ops

LEARN hosts several educational cooperatives (“co-ops”) to provide families across the metro with expanded learning and social opportunities: SCENE, CIRCLE, and our new Forest School. Each co-op is a little different to accommodate the variety of locations and participation levels of our families. Follow the links below to learn more about each co-op.

Social Opportunities

  • Little LEARNers – for our members age 6 and under and their caregivers. Read a book, do an activity, make new friends!
  • 7Ups – for our members ages 7-9ish, and their caregivers.
  • Double Digits – monthly gatherings of our members 10 and up: game nights, park play, special events
  • Teens – recurring teen nights, teen-focused field trips and events, dances, and more
  • Recess – open to all, and a terrific way to join LEARN for a casual Friday afternoon gathering

Questions can arise throughout all stages of homeschooling. Whether you’re brand new or a seasoned veteran, LEARN aims to maintain useful resources for wherever you are in your journey.

You can…

  • Share ideas and have discussions in our Members-only Facebook Group
  • Use members-only forums on Homeschool Life to plan and coordinate
  • Read about KS or MO regulations and find some helpful homeschooling resources in this Homeschool Resources document, compiled by a few of our members.
  • Access a Member ID card to use for teacher/student discounts in some retailers

Other Benefits

  • Clubs – Kansas City History, fiber arts, Pokemon, comic books, and more
  • Community Holiday parties
  • Homeschool 101 chats
  • Bi-Annual St. Louis campout (odd years)
  • Annual Recognition Ceremony
  • Graduation ceremony
    • LEARN offers a memorable, personalized commencement ceremony to honor those transitioning into adulthood. Friends and family gather together to celebrate with those wishing to take part in what, for many, is a cultural rite of passage. A reception follows the commencement ceremony. Nonmembers are welcome to participate in the graduation ceremony for an additional fee
  • Annual Picnic & Reunion
    • LEARN hosts a family picnic and reunion each summer. Our goal is to have fun while maintaining a connection with those families who have made LEARN a part of their lives regardless of whether or not they have continued to homeschool. Graduates and their families are welcome to attend free. Nonmembers are welcome to attend for an additional fee.
  • Let’s not forget inclusion in a large, diverse, community – plus many more events organized by families within the community!
